BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Lipner is a Professor of Clinical Dermatology, Attending Physician, and Director of the Nail Division at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She completed her undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Lipner completed her medical training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she received both M.D. and Ph.D degrees and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her residency training in Dermatology at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Lipner is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and Council for Nail Disorders, American Dermatologic Association, and is chair of multiple committees. She is also past President of The Dermatologic Society of Greater New York, past President of the New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and Founding Editor in Chief of JAAD Reviews. Dr. Lipner is an expert in nail disorders and the Primary Investigator on clinical trials utilizing novel treatments for nail disorders. Dr. Lipner is one of the leading researchers in dermatology. She has authored over 800 peer-reviewed publications, numerous books and book chapters, lectures nationally and internationally, and is frequently featured by the media including, CNN, NPR, Self, Allure, The Washington Post, and The New York Times for her expertise.
