BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Jain is an Associate Attending and Optical Imaging Specialist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM). She has over 15 years of experience in in vivo and ex vivo microscopy, including reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM), fluorescence confocal microscopy (FCM), multiphoton microscopy (MPM), and optical coherence tomography (OCT). She serves as Director of the annual CME confocal course at MSKCC and holds leadership positions as President of Noninvasive Skin Imaging of the Americas and Past Secretary of the International Tele-Dermatology Society. Dr. Jain has integrated RCM into dermatology clinical practice for bedside diagnosis of skin lesions and has imaged more than 1,000 patients over the past 11 years. She has also established a teleconfocal workflow in dermatology, enabling remote expert interpretation of confocal imaging for clinical decision support. Her research focuses on advancing non-invasive diagnostic technologies, including combined RCM–OCT platforms, high-resolution OCT, and topical fluorescent dyes for improved skin cancer detection. She is also actively evaluating ex vivo imaging systems such as OCT and FCM in freshly excised tissue to enable rapid, slide-free histopathologic assessment of surgical biopsies. In addition, Dr. Jain has developed artificial intelligence algorithms for both in vivo and ex vivo confocal microscopy to support automated detection of skin cancers. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, co-authored multiple book chapters in the field of in vivo and ex vivo microscopy, and is frequently invited to speak at national and international conferences.
