BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Abigail Waldman is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School and Clinical Director of Mohs Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. A nationally and internationally recognized expert in dermatologic surgery and cutaneous oncology, her work focuses on high-risk skin cancers, patient-reported outcomes, and innovative surgical techniques. Dr. Waldman completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Wellesley College, followed by a Master of Health Science and Doctor of Medicine at Yale University. She trained in Internal Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and completed her Dermatology residency and Chief Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. She then pursued fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at Northwestern University. Since joining Harvard Medical School in 2016, Dr. Waldman has held numerous leadership roles, including Director of Dermatologic Surgery at the Boston Veterans Affairs Hospital and Clinical Director of Mohs Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is widely recognized for advancing patient-centered care through the development and implementation of patient-reported outcome measures in skin cancer treatment. Dr. Waldman is a prolific educator and mentor, directing surgical training programs and mentoring numerous medical students, residents, and fellows. She is also an active speaker at major national and international conferences. In addition to her academic and clinical work, Dr. Waldman is a prominent public educator, contributing to media, podcasts, and social platforms to improve public understanding of dermatologic health. Her contributions have earned her numerous awards for clinical excellence, leadership, and patient care.
