BIOGRAPHY

Caroline A. Nelson, MD, MHS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology and the Director of Inpatient Dermatology and Dermatology Grand Rounds at the Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to joining the faculty, she completed a complex medical dermatology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute of Harvard Medical School. She is dedicated to advancing the intersecting fields of inpatient dermatology and medical education. From a clinical standpoint, her areas of expertise are severe cutaneous adverse reactions including drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms and Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis, neutrophilic dermatoses, and supportive oncodermatology. From an educational standpoint, she focuses on continuing medical education, curriculum development, and longitudinal medical student coaching. She is the lead author of the textbook, Dermatology: Comprehensive Board Review and Practice Examinations.
