P016 Managing Hair Disorders
DESCRIPTION
This session will address the diagnosis and management of hair loss and scalp disorders including old and new therapies. Exploration of the psychosocial ramifications that make hair loss a unique and challenging problem will be addressed as well as techniques to make the hair loss encounter easier. The goal is for the attendee to be better able to navigate this very common, but less understood part of dermatology. The target audience is the general dermatologist and trainees who are interested in improving their diagnosis and management of hair disorders.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Evaluate and recognize common and less common causes of hair loss and scalp disorders in children, men, and postmenopausal women.
Formulate an individually appropriate treatment plan for the patient with hair loss and scalp disorders.
Confidently prescribe new and old therapies useful for hair loss and scalp disorders.
