P010 Pipeline Therapies in Dermatology
DESCRIPTION
The research pipeline in dermatology is both rich in potential and at risk of extinction of tradition. As big pharma funds more research trials that focus on systemic and biological treatments, and start-up companies take risks with proof of concept and early phase studies, the shortage of new topical therapies in development can spell doom for how the next generation of dermatologists approaches diseases of the skin. This session will examine therapeutic developments in all phases of research and compare opportunities to current treatment options. A mixture of didactics and discussions will shed light on the current pipeline for dermatology.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Categorize and identify new therapeutic advances and potential therapeutic advances currently in early and late phase clinical research trials.
Discuss and evaluate the gaps and potential diminishing treatment classes that could affect the dermatology landscape.
Recognize and predict the future therapeutic options currently in research trials that could impact patient care outcomes in the next few years.
