DESCRIPTION

There have been many exciting recent developments in pediatric dermatology. This session will focus on emerging trends and advances in inflammatory, infectious, and neoplastic skin conditions that affect children, with emphasis on diagnostic and treatment strategies including the use of systemic therapies. Updates on acne, atopic dermatitis, vulvar dermatoses, vascular anomalies, and cutaneous infections in pediatric patients will be provided.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1.

Recognize etiologic factors and clinical manifestations of inflammatory, infectious, and neoplastic disorders in pediatric patients and use these observations to formulate state-of-the art management strategies

2.

Utilize recent advances to evaluate and treat acne, atopic dermatitis, vulvar dermatoses, vascular anomalies, and cutaneous infections in pediatric patients

3.

Employ dermatologic procedures safely and effectively in pediatric patients.
