P036 The Magnificent Mucosae
DESCRIPTION
This session aims to present a comprehensive review of diseases that affect the oral and genital mucosa. Speakers will highlight diseases that are common to a dermatologic practice as well as rare conditions that are important to recognize. The main thrust of the forum will be to highlight the diagnosis of these conditions but all speakers are excellent clinicians with many pearls for management as well. Practice gaps in mucosal disease are borne out of fear of the unknown; let us walk you through area specific terminology, normal anatomy and findings, biopsy techniques and diagnostic pearls to boost your confidence in these often neglected subjects.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Differentiate common and more unusual conditions that affect the oral and genital mucosae.
Formulate an appropriate differential for oral and genital disease that lays the framework for a thorough evaluation and diagnostic work up.
Develop a management plan for inflammatory and infectious oral and genital diseases for the benefit and wellness of every patient.
