DESCRIPTION

This interactive two-hour scientific symposium integrates dermatology and rheumatology perspectives to provide a comprehensive review of cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) as a distinct clinical and immunologic disease. The program will examine CLE classification, histopathologic features, epidemiology, progression to scarring and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and evidence-based models of multidisciplinary co-management. Emerging insights into CLE pathogenesis, interferon biology, and plasmacytoid dendritic cell–driven inflammation will be discussed alongside clinical trial data from Phase 1 and Phase 2 LILAC studies, including validated and novel outcome measures. Emphasis will be placed on translating mechanistic and clinical trial endpoints into meaningful clinical decision-making, with review of ongoing Phase 3 AMETHYST study design. Audience engagement through structured polling will support real-time assessment of practice patterns and knowledge gaps.
