F053 Nail Surgery: The Small Procedures to the Nail Apparatus That Frighten You
DESCRIPTION
The diagnosis and treatment of nail pathology often requires a surgical procedure. Even if simple (nail anesthesia, bed and matrix biopsy, ingrown toenail cure,) they frighten both the practitioner and the patient. The difficulty of access to a dermatologist or a surgeon specialized in nails greatly delays the management of these patients, often for simple pathologies that could be managed in a general dermatology setting. The goal of this forum is to address and teach the fundamental procedures to allow dermatologists to be autonomous in the management of a majority of nail pathologies.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Determine the best surgical approach for nail conditions and develop confidence in approaching these procedures
Apply various nail procedures in an outpatient dermatologic surgery clinic
Predict and manage post-procedural complications and pain
