U060 Melasma in Skin of Colour: 2026 Update
DESCRIPTION
Melasma is a constant challenge in patients of skin of color. The session aims to diagnose, investigate and formulate a successful management strategy for these patients. Emphasis on newer topical actives for the treatment of pigmentation in skin of color, the use of chemical peels and microneedling and laser and energy based devices for this challenging skin condition will also be covered. Physician awareness will be highlighted on current treatments available for this difficult medical and aesthetic condition and clear treatment strategies will be outlined.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Assess, diagnose and manage melasma in skin of color.
Perform appropriate investigations for facial melanosis differential diagnoses.
Formulate a treatment plan for effective management of these patients.
