F033 High-Yield Dermatopathology for Residents
DESCRIPTION
This session is aimed towards residents who wish to strengthen their dermatopathology skills in preparation for core or applied examinations. Approaches to diagnosis will include pattern recognition, generating a differential diagnosis based on specific histological findings, and distinguishing among disorders that are histologically similar. Residents will have the opportunity to test their skills on kodachrome images in an audience response format.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Choose the most appropriate biopsy technique based on clinical presentation and differentiate how specimens are grossed.
Diagnose common dermatologic conditions based on histopathological features.
Determine the most likely diagnosis when given clinical history, presentation, and histopathological findings.
