F023 The Science of Cosmeceuticals and Nutraceuticals
DESCRIPTION
This session will investigate the science surrounding topicals and orals for enhancing appearance and improving health span. Nutritional supplements for skin health will be surveyed in terms of the current marketplace. Skin of color cosmeceutical advancements will be presented. Topical skin care agents, to include peptides, exosomes, growth factors, and DNA repair moieties will be assessed for their value in skin care regimens. Innovations in topical anti-aging technologies for the face will be compared and contrasted. In summary, this session will aid the attendee in assessing the current state of cosmeceutical and nutraceutical science.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Evaluate the role of nutraceuticals in optimizing healthspan.
Survey current cosmeceutical innovations, facts, and fads to gain an understanding of their value to the clinical dermatologist in longevity dermatology.
Discuss cosmeceutical trends and advances in skin of color.
