DESCRIPTION

DRESS is a common condition with high morbidity and mortality. Despite this, diagnostic and treatment tools have remained constant and suboptimal, and DRESS has been treated as a homogenous condition. In this session, we define unique subtypes of DRESS with prognostic implications. We then explore how to optimize diagnosis and management using informatics tools. We then move on to review the latest guidelines for laboratory workup and monitoring, and finish by exploring modern, more-targeted therapies that have been studied in the treatment of DRESS.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1.

Recognize unique DRESS subtypes and their implications

2.

Develop a schema for ordering, interpreting, and monitoring labs in DRESS

3.

Compare and select targeted, novel treatments for DRESS
