U013 Little Zebras, Ponies, and Pearls: Instructive Pediatric Dermatology Cases
DESCRIPTION
Case-based scenarios of skin disorders in children and adolescents will be utilized to review the differential diagnosis of skin findings in this population and to discuss approaches for evaluation and management of these disorders. This session will discuss laboratory testing strategies, provide updates from recent medical literature, and offer clinically useful “practice pearls.” Topics explored will range from inflammatory, infectious, neoplastic, and genetic skin diseases to birthmarks and infestations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Describe the clinical presentation of pediatric dermatologic conditions
Utilize laboratory testing when appropriate to diagnose pediatric dermatologic disorders
Apply knowledge from clinical pearls to the diagnosis and management of pediatric skin disease
