U005 Top Tips from Top Docs: Pearls to Improve Patient Satisfaction and Enhance Patient Experience
DESCRIPTION
A positive patient experience in outpatient dermatology clinics is not based on rapport alone but also on access, optimal utilization of clinic space, support staff and wait time. Our target audience is physicians, residents and nurse practitioners. Based on our experience at an academic medical center, we will review the impact of these factors on patient satisfaction and example interventions. The speakers on this panel were repeatedly nominated as Boston Magazine’s Top dermatologists. We aim to review best practices across complex med derm, pediatric and surgical patients. We will also discuss service recovery to help resolve dissatisfaction or patient errors.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Discuss factors contributing to positive patient experience in dermatology outpatient clinics.
Examine major drivers of negative patient ratings and discuss ways for service recovery
Identify best practices from the check-in to check-out process to enhance patient experience for med derm, pediatric, and surgical patients.
