U011 Burn Bright, not Out! A Toolbox to Rediscover Joy in Derm
DESCRIPTION
When we have a negative interaction with a patient, staff member, or colleague, we may feel exposed, angry, sad, humiliated, or a host of other powerful negative emotions. This can quickly kill our love of practice and overwhelm us with burnout. The principles of cognitive behavioral therapy are straightforward, easy to learn, and have provided almost immediate benefit to numerous clinicians navigating the day-to-day challenges. Understanding these principles not only helps manage one’s own mental wellbeing, it also unlocks a superpower when it comes to caring for and connecting with patients, staff members and colleagues. This session will also provide you with other valuable tools to combat burnout including finding the passion/meaning in the work you do, ways to incorporate dedicated wellness time in your work week and mindfulness training. You will leave energized and equipped to tackle burnout head on!
