DESCRIPTION
This session is designed for new or growing practices to integrate lasers/EBDs into their practice. Dermatologists invented and perfected most of the lasers/EBDs used in treating skin and subcutaneous tissues today. We are best suited to deliver safe and effective treatments, but often do not get training in understanding these devices in residency, and technology moves forward so quickly that knowledge obtained in residency is quickly obsolete. This session will provide an overview of lasers/EBDs available today, and offer practical advice on how and which devices to purchase for your new or growing practice.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Describe the myriad of lasers and energy-based devices (EBDs) available for dermatologists today.
Compare and contrast different lasers/EBDs to learn what fits best in a new practice and distinguish between multiple devices.
Formulate a plan to integrate devices into a new or existing practice, and analyze options with concrete advice on how best to purchase a new laser/EBD.
